Last night was another success. Two things happened. 1) Another race had the number of people racing in the double figures. 2) We had 11 people racing so we beat the previous largest race number for Generations on SRL by 6.
Back to 2D and the chosen game is Sonic CD. Please tell me what goals you want to see. You have till Saturday 12pm EDT to vote.
As for the rotation I will begin working on it this week. Just the main games at the moment, the hacks need a little bit more time.
1) Beat the game as Sonic: 6
2) Beat the game as Tails: 2
Current as of reply #20

Are both versions allowed? I won't vote on a goal just yet as I may or may not race, I don't know Sonic CD at all.
-
I would hope both versions would be allowed. But then I remember somebody saying there's some kind of Differences?
-
Tails, Fastest Finish.
-
Werey: SCD2011 has Sonic 2 spindash.
-
I have no idea what the difference in spindashes are? xD
-
Sonic CD's spindash normally requires you to hold down for around a second; if you let go early you don't go anywhere.
Obviously, S2's spindash is faster given that you can mash the buttons six times faster than a second.
-
Oh right. I normally fail at spindashing anyway
-
Besides, if you are using the original, you still have the Super Peel Out. Not that big of a difference. I think I can make this one, if the iOS version is allowed. So I vote for a Sonic Playthrough.
-
Well 2011 version does have the faster spindash. However there are some things you can't do on the new version, such as CC3 shortcut which I heard is really hard to pull off. There's also the zip on CC1 and the beginning part of TT1 is a lot harder. Also the old version felt like it was slower when I last played it compared to the new version >_>
I am going to allow both versions. Unless Tails gets picked then you'll need 2011 version of course <_<
-
don't worry too much about glitch use, We don't seem to care about those anymore heh, and I doubt people would stress themself to do tricky things in a race
-
How do you get Tails in CD2011? I don't want to go through much trouble to get him.
-
To unlock Tails you have to beat the game once as Sonic (emeralds not required).
-
You have plenty of time to unlock him in a week. Now that the version difference is sorted, what goal do you want? I'm not going to put my vote in till I know if I'm able to race as I might be at RPG's place that weekend.
-
I bet that I might not be able to finish since I've been on the WW boss for a year now...
-
i personally would like to just beat the game as sonic/tails, strong preference on sonic because it allows people without the new version (srsly its only like 5 bucks) to play. i don't really know where all the robot things to make a good future are, and f time stones. i don't think i'll have enough free time in the week to memorize their locations. that's a pretty short goal but if people want more we can always do more after the race. i'd still do it if we have to get a good future we just might be there for a while, lol
-
I vote for Sonic cause I don't have the 2011 version.
-
Voting for Sonic, as I see that not everyone has '11 version.
-
Ok. I can make it for sure. Vote is in for Sonic. 5 bucks says I will get stuck on the final couple if levels! 8D
-
CD2011 flying mechanics sucks ass. Therefore my vote goes for Sonic.
I don't have a preference for racing though I can say that if you don't have the 2011 version there are ways to get it

Fuck you all. Tails is best character.
Also those who don't have 2011 version, go out and buy it, you're doing yourself a favour by buying possibly SEGA's only good port.
-
It's only 400 points which I find incredibly cheap. That's like £3-£4

This. Also Tails is definitely more interesting and fun than sonic when playing the game, mainly because of his weird flying mechanics.
-
As far as I'm aware, the 2011 SCD port doesn't cost over $5.00 (US) for any available platform. That's pretty cheap if you compare it with Sonic 4.
-
Just thought I'd tell you guys that the Sega Halloween Mobile Sale is on, and Sonic CD is available for iOS & Android at a price of $1.99 (USD), £1.99 (GBP) and €1.59 (EURO). The sale ends on October 31st, 2012 so you have about 5 days to take advantage of it.

Not surprised that sonic won. Goal is beat the game as sonic. Room will be open around 4pm EDT.
