Title: Games List and Volunteers
Post by: Thorn on January 18, 2013, 04:44:18 pm
Only unconditional volunteers have been listed so far; if you said "I can do this game only if x, y, and z," I didn't include you for that game.

Sonic Team Games List

Fan Games List

Not Games, But Necessary For Excellent Marathons

Volunteers That Need Proof

I can also conditionally do the Sonic 4s and Unleashed 360. Also, how do you feel about Generations mods in the marathon? (for the record, I have no idea if I can stream PC, so don't put me down for that)

Also, lol Unleashed Mobile

I'll do Black Knight if I can sort out the sound coming from my dazzle. I'll have a look after this weekend, I have things I have to sort out first at home before I do that.

I can do 06 and karaoke. If I find a way to record Sonic Jump I can do that. Any ideas?

See now, I'd really like to do Unleashed, but the fact I can't do the GTW glitch would kinda make it unfun to watch. I'll have to think more.

Edit: Love how I'm the only one down for SRB2 :(

Sonic Riders (GC) and Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed(360). Donation wars for characters used, weather or not I'll sing Sonic Speed Riders and the usual karaoke. Also you can throw me in for Sonic And Sega All Stars Racing too if you need bodies for multiplayer and singers.

Put me down for either ASR too. And SA2 or something as a back up only.

I'm also in for ASRT.

I'll make myself available as long as the date is announced a good while in beforehand. The only potential problem would be work but I could be free the whole weekend after/before that.

I sign up for Sonic 2 as Sonic & Tails (Don't know Knuckles, although I guess it's not all that terrible to learn if it's absolutely necessary)

Sonic 3 & Knuckles. You could probably make it an incentive for Sonic/Tails, glitchless or any% and potentially 100%. If I'm sonic I'd like to run on an 8 emerald file so you get the final stage too though. The problem with this is that it's a lot of categories to potentially focus on so I'd rather have 1 incentive for [Sonic/Tails], [Sonic or Tails Glichless/any%] or [Sonic 100%/any%] and for it to be decided as soons as possible.

EDIT: I talked to HDL and he was interested in joining so if he does I can forfeit the Sonic 3 spot for him. He's probably the best Tails and Knuckles runner around.

Out of curiosity, when is this being held? I want to join in on it and run a game, but I haven't found a listed date so I don't know when exactly this is gonna be held.

http://www.twitch.tv/tsc_streams - This will be the twitch account we'll be using to stream on. As of WHEN, All I know so far is that it's either the week before, during or after easter.

Thorn told me that it was planned to be the week before easter sunday, and through that week, how long depends on how many games are run.
So I estimate it's gonna be something like Saturday 23rd March to Monday 1st April, but it could start later end later, and be a different length of time, but it's gonna be within those dates to my knowledge, ask thorn for more information. :)

Okay, in that case I'd be interested in doing Sonic Adventure, Heroes, and maybe Sonic 4: Episode 2. I can run those games pretty good, and shouldn't take too long for me. I should be free around that time, so attending shouldn't be an issue for me at all from where I stand now. This seems pretty cool!

Assuming that I can do it 22nd - 24th or a few days after Easter Sunday then I can do:
Sonic 1 - Very likely to be under 30 minutes comfortably
Sonic 2 - About 26:00, pretty much guarantee sub 30 minutes
Sonic Generations - Me and Paraxade are pretty close, my PB is about 1:20, which is what he got at AGDQ and I know I can improve that.
Hacks:
Robotnik's Revenge
SRB2 (As a backup because I'm probably not the best person available)
Sonic Classic Heroes

EDIT: I can do Sonic Colours (Egg Shuttle) as well because I'm not bad at that game either
EDIT2: I can also do Sonic 1 GG, and Sonic 2 GG(not as good as FF so she should do it, I can be backup if its that necessary),
Sonic 3D Blast(Mega Drive version) - PB is 38 minutes for SMD version
EDIT3: Sonic Generations mods: I've streamed them in the past so I've no problem with that, I'll keep updating the mods I can do as I practice them more and get more confident with them - I'll do Wave Ocean (Classic And Modern), Rainbow Road (Modern).
EDIT4: Sonic and Mario At The 2012 Olympics - I can play that because I'm pretty good at it, as for goals maybe some people could give me some ideas?...

Note: These are only possible if the dates are as stated above

^ I'd prefer not to stream a game twice without good reason (any repeated games last marathon were bonus streams or audience-requested), so I'm going to say no to your Generations idea for the time being. SRB2 will be a netplay stream, so you will not be the one streaming. Since your entire list is conditioned on what day you get to stream, I am not adding you to the volunteers list just yet.

Post by: flying fox on January 23, 2013, 05:27:43 pm
Put me down for SRB2 co-op shenanigans. Luckily I can connect to Thorn again on the PC, but my lag is still awful as in 200-450ms. Hopefully it'll get better, but if it's not on the day I'll pull out for everyone's sanity :(
Title: Re: Games List and Volunteers
Post by: DarkAura on January 23, 2013, 08:18:29 pm
I can do the SRB2 co-op if there is no mods involved, as we both know how that played out.
Title: Re: Games List and Volunteers
Post by: Werey on January 24, 2013, 11:55:13 am
Also Thorn, you can put me down in the proofing section if you'd like. As we're both down for both ASR's, I don't mind streaming one of them so you don't have to do everything again. Up to you.

If nobody else has grabbed it yet, I'd like to be able to do Sonic Colors (Wii). I conveniently have a Wii in my room, so I can use my Dazzle to stream it with pretty decent quality. As for my microphone, it's a podcasting one, so voice quality should not be a problem.
Title: Re: Games List and Volunteers
Post by: Zorkiy on January 27, 2013, 05:04:28 pm
Beat SRB2 twice in the last few days and liked it very much, so definitely volunteering for the co-op (in hopes of tolerable lag). If we're doing a mod, it'd be nice to know that some time before the event, of course.

I think I'll be able to do Sonic Adventure DX, not sure if I'll have time though. Also, I play the PC version, not sure if that would have some problem (it saves around 4 - 5 minutes due to MUCH faster loading times in a Sonic's Story run). My best time (Sonic's Story) is 35:57 and my average time is somewhere around 38 minutes.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind about that. I won't be able to stream my voice with the stream, because my mic isn't working and I'm not really good at talking in english... Sorry...

I'll take up some more games I GUESS

Drift 1 and maybe Rivals 2 if i can get my PSP streaming back online.
I'd do the Winter DS olympic story mode if i had a DS capture device because playing it on emulator properly is just piss hard >_>

I'll do S2GG, Sonic Triple Trouble (Tails) and Sonic Chaos (Tails). Those games are short and I can re-learn them.

I'll be more than happy to do SA2B hero story, I currently hold the world record for the category with a 39:21 RTA :).

Post by: Antronach on February 01, 2013, 07:19:47 pm
Put me down for maybe right now. Personal crap is getting in the way, so it might take time for a stream test, much less plan out playthroughs and strategies. I can still participate in online multiplayer if I have time; Xbox 360 for ASR & ASRT.

I can stream Ristar regardless though. I'll see about Sonic Before The Sequel too if I can get it running at a decent framerate.

Post by: Werey on February 02, 2013, 08:43:07 am
Just to point out Thorn, us Xbox users for ASRT may have to check for NAT issues like You/I Groudon/I ran into before when trying to connect. IF there's 5 of us though, this should be easily avoided.

If you need someone for Sonic The Hedgehog (Master System) or Sonic The Hedgehog Chaos (Master System, Sonic levels), I'd be very happy to run them! I currently have the SDA run for Chaos, and got close to getting a perfect run in Sonic 1, so I should be able to pull off some nice runs.

I'm training Unleashed on PS3 right now, I can stream no problem however,
a speedrun of the full game is impossible for me. The run is ~ 3Hours and for now
i can do the first hour pretty well.

Maybe in the future i could stream then.

Why don't you stream part of the game then, it would be great to see Unleashed done :)

We didn't do a full-game run on Unleashed last time because it was long, instead doing requested stages. It's up to you how you want to do it. I'm not sure if you're volunteering or not, so if you could clarify, that would be great.
Title: Re: Games List and Volunteers

Well im kinda busy, if you can tell me exactly when my part is, i would join.

I can do requested stages as well. But i need to train specific stages then.

Thorn do you think that dates and times could be organised pretty soon, it'll certianly help me to organise in advance, and I'm sure it'll help others as well. I think we've gopt enough volunteers so you can start to get an idea of a schedule

You guys know what I can do by now.

Can volunteer for: Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Sonic Advance 3. Caveats:
- TimpZ mentioned HDL might be interested in playing S3K, in which case I would of course concede to him.
- Advance 3: I would prefer 100%, but could learn any%. I'd have to practice for either.

Thorn, we talked about this at AGDQ too! What happened to keeping me in the loop? D:

Depending on when this marathon is, I can offer all stories in sa2b instead of just hero, I'd like to get a little more consistent at dark story before running at a marathon though. :). I can probably get consistent enough within a month or so.
Title: Re: Games List and Volunteers
Post by: Thorn on February 12, 2013, 01:28:56 pm
^ A month of so is a good time to shoot for; the plan is to schedule things today or tomorrow for the week leading up to and including Easter. I wanted to have the schedule up sooner, but that takes actual effort and I've had a bit going on outside of TSC lately. Keep an eye on this subforum for the first draft of the schedule soon.

i'll do my 3 minute or whatever sonic 3 TA run thing if you guys want. i have a headset now so i think the sound issues i had last time should be fixed.
could also do some glitch demo w/ sonic since i doubt people will be 1. running sonic in s3&k and 2. using 2 really retarded glitches that i can show lol.

Sonic and Mario At The 2012 Olympics - I can play that because I'm pretty good at it, as for goals maybe some people could give me some ideas because I don't have an idea of a decent goal, maybe a london party?

Like TimpZ said, he approached me asking if I'd be interested in running S3K.  I don't know the details of this marathon, but if I'm available when it happens I can do either Tails and/or Knuckles any%.

^ There's a draft schedule here (http://www.soniccenter.org/forum/index.php?topic=5573.0). You'd receive a stream key for the TSC Twitch.tv channel; as long as you can integrate Skype for group commentary, that's all you need (although anything else you want in the stream, such as WSplit or on-screen chat, is fine so long as it's not blatant, obnoxious advertising for anything).

You, TimpZ, and mike89 all wanted to play the game, so if you want to work something out amongst yourselves or even race it simultaneously, go for it.

May have posted in the wrong topic, anyways I know I have been inactive for a few months, but I've been practicing ristar alot lately and I feel I can pull off a decent run this year, Sonata 1 is now my only major difficulty, so if you still need a slot filled I can volunteer. Always nice to help out a good cause!

I'll be absolutely happy to apply for Sonic Unleashed (360) if we are doing only requested levels, and Sonic Colors whatever we're doing with that (requested levels, new game, or Egg Shuttle is fine with me)

And I guess depending on the situation I can also try Generations. SRB2 too if I have the time.
