I used to go there when I was a complete loser / noob online... I remember that FEBW gig when it started up, everyone hated me because I stole their items XD...

I'll join in on the fun again under the username of PsyBorg lol.

Both Viking Cup and non-VC have competition potential, so I say in with BOTH. :D

Of course, nobody likes that, so my voice is useless.

I would like to say several things:

1. SONIC IS GOING TO BE MY MAIN
2. The undeposable king of SSBB lines: "Mei ling, Samus took her clothes off!"
3. Meta Knight will be top tier because he will have good speed, high attack power, sword-based projectile activated by directionless special that will have godlike speed and spamability, etc. He also has a decent though by no means broken final smash in which he either blatantly rips off Link's FS or uses the Halberd to nuke everybody on screen. The only thing that will suck about him is his recovery move and crap throw. (There, now I've joined the tier guessing contest. :D)
4. Characters not from third parties that have a strong likelihood of joining are DeDeDe, Krystal,  and some animal crossing character (don't know who but there is a good chance of it)

3. SSMB Melee

lolwhat.

Top 10 fighting games

- Super Smash Bross. Melee
- Tekken 3
- Soul Calibur 2
- Naruto Gekkitou Ninja Taisen 4
- Virtua Fighter 2
- Guilty Gear XX Slash
- Mortal Kombat 3
- Street Fighter 2
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2
- The King of Fighters Kyo

Edited: I forgot to include Virtua Fighter 2. -_-

Obviously you either haven't played Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 or haven't played UMK3 at a high level if you're placing UMK3 that low... though that's just my opinion...

Oh and I declare this topic inherently stupid and therefore see this as an excuse to do AHHHHHHHHH- er nvm.

« on: September 03, 2007, 02:40:05 pm »
I agree on Monty being the worst, but Boo is by far one of the best. Easy deke through goalie and good passing is really helpful.

Heh anyway, if I had this game and a Wii, it would be mad easy to get in the top ten I bet. A lot of the noobs you fight online are pathetic. Especially if they're NS. >.>

No, I played on his console.

Also I don't mean luck as in your definition of "cheap". By luck I mean everybody on my team falls into the lava pits in the lava stage (the most common method of me losing) and then my opponent, with a uncharged shot from a speed character, makes a goal right past the goalie.

Now about your definition of cheap, you have to realize that everything in this game is counterable, from "Daisy Near the Goalie" to Toad Jumping. Plus Toad sucks anyway, he is easily beaten competition-wise by Boo because not only can Boo deke the goalie easier than toad, but his skillshot has SOME use. Teleport past the goalie is a common and counterable tactic, just march up to the opponent and tackle. The most important thing about this game is that you KEEP THE BALL. Never, EVER lose it without a huge fight, and when someone lobs or passes, intercept with the A button. Sometimes it can be worth giving an opponent an item just so you can get the ball.

Also my best rank was when this game was just released in the US, I got to rank 17 iirc. Yeah lol, I stayed at my friend's THAT long... we were totally into the game when it first came out and knew all sorts of tactics.

ps: If you're making the tourney with those rules, count me out... I use "cheap" tactics myself.
pss: My team is Yoshi, Birdo and Boo in front, Dry Bones in back.

Beef / Re: If you had a (Ban) Hammer
« on: August 30, 2007, 11:36:36 am »
If I had a banhammer, I'd sell it for money, not only because I could care less about banning people, but I could buy shit that I care about. And knowing how much b&hammers sell for, I'd have one hell of a time.

Also:

If by forget how old he is you mean change his age every week, then yes! Though I don't rememebr teh last time i forgot I was 15 and therefore called myself 9, but ok!

But you remember when you thought you were 1 year old, right?

Eh, my friend has Strikers and I play it whenever I'm at his place, online or offline. It is great fun provided you are playing lag-free and winning. You always lose due to FSCKING LUCK. Your opponent magically gets goal(s) on you that took no skill whatsoever. Ranked should seriously be first to 3 or 4, not 2. Anyway, my overall win to loss ratio is around 4.5:1, and considering the huge amount of luck you need to win in this game, it's a wonder.

Also a tournament would be fun but I don't think many people here have Strikers, so good luck.

Information Kiosk / Re: some ar codes useed for records
« on: August 29, 2007, 05:06:50 pm »
AR codes, as far as I believe, are generally allowed under the circumstance that they do not affect normal gameplay or a TA / SA / RA / BA etc. For example, if you have infinite rings on and do a TA, the TA is invalid if you get hurt. Still, as others can't tell what you did, we'd probably not allow it or have difficulty trusting you. simply because it has the chance of affecting normal gameplay. In general, infinite lives should be the only code ever used.

Now, about the code you mentioned, I believe there are points in SADX (iirc) where free camera is disabled. I am very unsure about how the code works and thus I cannot say for sure that it is legal. If it prevents the game from turning off free camera at specific points in the game, then it's illegal because it messes around with what is supposed to happen in the game and you should not use it. Can you describe why you are using the code and why you just don't turn on free camera yourself? Maybe then we can truly assess the legality of your code use.

Online rankings? Hey SEGA, that's still our job. :(

The way the SRA website communicates the functions of the leaderboard are rather unclear due to brief summarizing; don't assume anything until you've experienced the game yourself or Sega proves it. We don't know what stages they'll rank (maybe some stages omitted, like bosses and / or the final boss, possibly minigame stages too), who they'll rank (stages with or without seperate rankings for different characters), if they have rankings for competitive values other than times (rings, scores), etc., which TSC can provide for if not included.

12
Both of these users are, as far as we can tell, legit competitors, and unless you have some good reasons why you think they're cheating, you generally shouldn't make such accusations. Use some general sense: there are three (not two) people who have the time for Lost Prolouge 9, and 6 below below SkyLights have 2 centiseconds more on Lost Prolouge 10; ask yourself, what are the odds of a cheat storm of this magnitude occurring on TSC?

You should have taken some or all of these courses of action:

- Contact the players who have the record or players who have close records. Some of them might tell you how to do it or give you some hints.
- From what I know, SatSR has an "equipment" and "level" system; make sure you are at maximum level and have equipment that is appropriate for the situation.
- Fool around with the stage. Sometimes attempting multiple theoretical strategies at maximum speed can lead you on the right track.
- Check if there are any videos or strategy guides available (in this case there weren't, but just for the record)
- Give up. Sometimes you just can't do something, and instead of wasting your time doing something unproductive, do something that you know will get you some record on TSC.

Competition Central / Re: Character divisions for Sonic R.
« on: June 13, 2007, 08:24:27 pm »
The idea was suggested in the "New Competition Ideas" topic, but it was thrown out quickly.  And as Crowbar said, it was probably dropped from the start for the same reason.

Yeah, I suggested it originally and it was dropped.

You suggest everything. Why do we have to even be reminded that it's you who is suggesting? >.>

WHERE IS THE "TURN REAL LIFE ON/OFF" OPTION IN THE SETTINGS?!?!

Site header kthx.

Seconded.

There can only be one thing said about this.

:O!

ps: Immortal >>>> Dragoon. I mean, seriously. Dual rifles are awesome compared to some silly eyeball cannon that shoots magic balls of exploding plasma at people.

Moloch, because X, X, ^A infinite for the win (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuOTAs7wUic). Plus, he was pretty much unbeatable in MK:DA unless you got lucky/could abuse the AI without one single frame of error.

Oh, and Armageddon is okay, but is inferior to UMK3 for the Xbox 360. Come on, you get to hear people complain about how you suck instead of the real problem (themselves)! It's fun, srsly.

21
Haha, the wars I have waged against other people will NEVER make it to this list. Iunno, I expected for one of my wars to take around 7th or 6th place anyway, but meh, whatever. I expect something... else... sooner or later.

22
Wouldn't surprise me to see PB/RPG (S06) or PB/Groudon/YF/SJ (Shadow), but meh, I thought they were both lower than even Crowbar/SkyLights. (No mention of BenB17 who was up there for a while as well?)

You mean PB/D1AOS (S2006) and PB/YF/SJ (shth) of course.

RPG has kinda dropped out of competing in S2006 for now, D1AOS has come into the S2006 fray, and about Groudon, well, he was never REALLY a competitor. >.>

* PsyBorg run from Groudon

IIRC, there is one board that can snake, but it needs INCREDIBLE snaking even to be just barely above average.

Seriously, though. Kill it.

General Sonic / Re: Sonic 1 Megamix
« on: April 10, 2007, 03:28:21 pm »
I'm an owner of the older version of Megamix, which RPG showed to me... I look forward to the next release, but I'm bugged about one thing:

I like the implementations of Light Dash and Ancient Light in the game, however, logically Light Dash would also be available for Shadow, so why doesn't Shadow get it?

Use the dark path, not the hero path. That's the main thing I can remember. Just experiment with CC otherwise, and you'll have it down.
