Cheater? (Sonic Chaos)

I noticed in Sonic Chaos, somebody called eredani has one second shorter than EVERYONE'S time (sometimes 2 or 3). Is there a technique I'm missing? Or is this a cheater? Or am I an idiot? I'm just checking. You can never be too careful...

Doubt that he's cheating... eredani's on the Top 10.  Must mean he's pretty trustworthy.  And I know from trying to get the Rail Canyon record in Sonic Heroes that he doesn't back down.

I was the one pushing him to get most of those records. I'm pretty sure they're achievable, just require insane timing.
