Random Sonic Advance Glitch/Happening

So uh, was playing some Sonic Advance when suddenly after pausing my game just glitched up.  Bars filled up the screen (they just scrolled onto the middle of the screen neatly placed) and a random song started playing that I've never heard.

That's normally associated with using GameShark codes or something similar. It takes a soft reset to proceed past that screen.
