Competition Central / Re: Sonic Rush Adventure Segmented Speedrun

^Well actually since it was a year when i made this thread, i've changed my mind, because missions suck ass. It's just going to be a true ending run.

Massive bump, with progress. I just obtained a cart of SRA, which means i will start looking into segments for the actual run! This will update every so often when i get the time. After that, then it's practise and execution. Enjoy!

EDIT: Need to learn which method of sea travel is faster for Hidden Island Completion. Also should all missions be done? :U

My beef with the current chart layout is that there is no scores for anything. Why can't we add them? They are less redundant than SCDS's scores.

No, but they seem to be the same pattern of missions for each zone. There are also some boss rush missions with 1 ring only, and orb collecting in special stages (which are the only ones i'm even wanting to time attack). I'm at 51 thereabouts. If you want me to, I'll get 100 within 24 hours.

Do you use the Time Trial mode for obtaining statistics?
Is Sonic the only racer you can use? Or can you use the other characters?
You aren't restricted in choosing your character.
I'll probably be in third under Cruizer and James, but it's better than nothing!
Until you Lap Glitch, yes you will be.

I'm refering to X-Zone and Moon Zone for Advance 1, and check your facts because Advance 2 bosses do not have infinite rings, I checked them myself (much like heroes)

Well yeah, X-Zone and Moon Zone could use their own charts. And i could've sworn the Adv2 Bosses had respawning rings, i guess i was mistaken then.

Rules Revisions / Re: ? Boxes
« on: January 03, 2012, 07:45:58 pm »
and then neither rings or score for Advance 1/2?
Advance 1: Rings and Scores are tracked for bosses, as they are in act 2.
Advance 2: Infinite Rings Under a time limit.

Competition Central / Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Charts
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:08:38 am »
^That, and there's the fact that you can only earn 1 a day. So after you use it, you won't have it again for a long time. So in essence, they aren't really practical in using on any charts we make.

Also Casino Night 1's Ring sources aren't infinite, excluding the slot machines and those other similar metal holders. The bumpers stop giving you rings after a certain amount (5 or 6. Something close to that number), and the number of rings the slots give you will not be enough to max your rings out that quickly.

Rules Revisions / Re: ? Boxes
« on: January 03, 2012, 07:58:15 am »
Okay, so this works in Advance 3, but how will this work for games that don't auto-10 ring the ? boxes in TA mode? That's currently the main issue i'm seeing in this.

and moreover being completely unfair to those who have previously submitted stats.
As someone who has suffered through a good portion of these ring attacks in rush/rush adventure, I for one am completely willing to sacrifice the hours upon hours of lost time in my life trying to achieve all 50's in a particular stage to have random ring boxes removed from competition for the rest of time, and I'm sure others would feel the same way if it means that these charts end up being substantially more fun to compete in.

However, I'm not going to support this. ? boxes make things different in competition, in the fact that you have to commit to doing it over and over again if you want to take the game's championship, rather than finding the record, tying the record, and never touching that chart ever again.

Quote from: Zeupar
I don't think that trying to fix errors from the past is a bad idea.
Now you're just creating more problems than you're solving, and moreover being completely unfair to those who have previously submitted stats.

It would be unfair if players couldn't influence in the decision, and that's the reason this poll was created.

And that's why I'm disagreeing with it. It is unfair to me and other players to have wasted our efforts in proving we have the absolute best, luck manipulated stat, just because we don't like luck manipulations. Before you know it, we'll be banning bosses that use luck to determine attack patterns.

All ring attacks are, are obtaining the most amount of rings possible. If it means having to restart to get that 40 or 50 from a ? box, then that is what it will take. Banning something crucial to the concept of an RA kinda destroys the whole point of ring attacks.

« on: January 02, 2012, 08:27:53 am »
^Well, i just got the 10 ring item and used it.

I no longer have it apparently, so i guess they disappear after being used? If that's the case, a ban on them may be needed until we find out what all of them are, because anyone can make up bs about what item they got.

Competition Central / Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Charts

Time out is always on in time attack mode, it isn't in normal game mode Rings max out at 999. There is no difficulty setting. Casino Night 2 is an easy Rings max, so easy that I'd suggest it be removed from the charts. CN1 hasn't been looked at enough yet

Rule to add:

Rings Divisions:

Rings must be obtained in Time Attack mode.

Okay so, perhaps we should have an attack plan for who unlocks what missions so we can save time? (or y'know, just ban all the missions because they seem to be of SRA Mission quality, and we all know how that was >_>)

Competition Central / Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Charts

Special Stages should be using Scores rather than times. Tracking more than one of Times or Scores is pretty redundant though. That and Times are most likely going to be tied maxes.
Normal Scores should also be tracked. Rings are enough of a difference to create a new chart.

I'm trying to go through the missions, odds are we're just going to avoid them so we don't have another SRA Extra chart.

TSC has a Mario Kart 7 community now!

We shall hold regular races for this.

This, so much this. We should make a thread for it.

That's cool. Last year my main present was a pair of decent Senheissers (i don't care how you spell it).

Sennheiser. You know how I know? I took my pair off and looked at them! If you have a pair, then i don't know why you're not using them right now!

Friend Code bitch. I must stalk you with my shiny red new 3 DEE ESS that came with MK7 and Pokemon Rumble :O

But my favourite gift this year had to be the 6 pairs of socks i got. I needed them, i wanted them, i got them, they're soft, and have no holes in them. <3

The main thing I see as a problem is that Tails can't be selected for stage select.

I jsut entered 32/8, and got debug. Yeah, selectable?

-Separating Spindash is retarded

Also I'm for having a new game for this. Frankly, i just want charts for Tails so i can start competitively playing as him >_>

A thought, since the Level select is easy to get to, perhaps we should look into getting past/present/g&b future charts for times? This will be an effort to chart though, what with time attack only allowing present (for zones 1 & 2) and bad future (for zone 3). Level select allows time travel. Perhaps (if this is taken into account) we split the charts to two different categories, Times and Time Attack, where Times is from level select, and Time attack is from time attack mode? Of course, this could all just end up being too confusing to chart (especially with Tails involved) and completely dumped.

Time for a fun discussion! D:

If i can obtain either a better computer capable of DS emulation && a 4 button usb controller || a high definition camera with output/streaming capabilities, I'd be more than willing to help with Rush Adventure and Colours DS. I'm not proficient enough for Rush so I'm going to pass on that.

Also if i somehow obtain a PSP-2000 or later with previously mentioned auxiliary cables so i can stream, I'll also do Rivals 2, and maybe Rivals 1. It'd be nice to have a O button that actually works so i can reach the upper time limits of the levels.

Perhaps the best way to do this (the massive marathon multiplayer games) is to follow the age old prophecies in getting together a TSC Convention?*bricked*

i know debug modes not allowed im just saying use it outside of speedruns and any records

Your comment also had nothing to do with the first post, or any of the other ones. Try reading through a topic before you actually post in one.

i know this forums old but u can skip Act 1 boss in angel island if u know the debug glitch and head through where knux breaks the rocks but dont untransform or go up when the screen budges up stay down and head towards Act 2 boss and when beaten it will say ¿Sonic Has Cleared Act 1¿ and then youll fall after knux presses tha switch

1) Debug isn't allowed here/ignored here, so don't ever bring it up
2) Stop being an idiot and posting in these old, dead threads. You should know not to do such a thing.
