I also think it would be a good idea for TSC to have a mobile app that takes pictures and submits them as proof without an opportunity to doctor them.
THIS.

Sorry, unranked, can't copy paste :<

EDIT: Day 1, Lightkeeper dies, we all go a bit crazy from there.

We have this rule:

Quote
In Icecap 1, if you are locked on to Sonic & Knuckles, you may not skip the Act 1 boss.

This is placed under the score and rings division but not the time division. So really I can't see why you can't submit the time for act 1.

That is the ruling. Starting Act 1, fighting a boss and finishing the stage. Nothing in the Time Division rules about skipping the Act 1 boss being illegal, which means it is perfectly legal currently. So SonicBoom, to answer your question, you may do that, but you must submit it as an Act 1 time.

Competition Central / Re: Reviving the idea of M&S charts
« on: September 04, 2012, 01:39:14 pm »
My question for these charts, is "Will there be enough competition to actually support having their charts?" I regret pushing for ASRDS because after 18 months on the site, there's 4 people on the charts, with barely any prominent activity (excluding stat dumps), and rarely gets submitted to. I tried to get competitive in the game when James_Bertolli came in with his sweep, but my interest in the game dwindled as it wasn't the hot thing anymore, nor was there enough incentive for me to play for it sitewide-wise. 2 years ago when i had drafted up Winter Olympics Charts (and summer Wii, which have mysteriously been edited away), i had massive intention to compete in that game regularly, possibly even 0p if i was actually good enough. And the appeal of that game may have been scarce, but it was there with some regular members. As of this post, it seems that not many, barring 3-4 perhaps, are interested in competing in this game. We don't even [seem to] have someone coherent in charts and rule design (sorry DarkAura, not a shot at you, but you don't seem entirely familiar with how charts are drafted, not that your enthusiasm isn't refreshing to see :P) for the 2012 Olympics games. Honestly, I'm not even sure I want to go out and buy this game, because the excitement of the London Olympics has passed, and I'm not even sure we'd get much competition to our charts, if they're made.

I won't complain if charts are made though (I may complain how they're made if i ever get my hands on the appropriate games, -if- they're charted improperly), I'm merely stating that it may just be something that is put onto the site, and seldom used. We seem to be lacking a little lately in submissions with games that aren't big console Sonic games though.

If this is a serious thing, I'll go buy the 3DS version of olympics in a bit.

well.
To be competing first we need to have experience in the game. meaning most off us have a lot of missions available already.

Also. Street pass helps.
and you can change the day date to get other 10 coins
also playing the game unlocks missions

is not tedious at all. is it fun when you get your new missions.

Is just like getting a new record here. is very tedious to play an stage over and over. but you feel great when you get to be the number 1 in a certain stage

It really isn't. It's just more time wasted on something people are going to have little to no interest to compete in. So the tediousness of unlocking, coupled with the extremely low competitive appeal/value, put the missions 6 feet under.

From what I've gathered, it's because of how tedious it is to unlock every mission (which I don't think is a good reason to not add them).

This. 5 play coins per mission. 100 missions. 500 play coins. at the rate of 10 play coins per day, at the very most, you would not unlock them for 50 days. Too long, too much effort, and it has been deemed as a quite stupid requirement for missions.

Leaving this point here before I forget: Death Egg mk.II 1 does indeed have infinite rings, but it has a finite time limit. Is ten minutes of rings enough to make up for losing the huge time bonuses that Sonic 4 offers?

Deep Core Rings.

Exception Score, more like.

...even better than mine!

Also while the rules do cover everything, they feel malformed. Other than that, the charts seem complete and ready to go.

RetroGamer is a site that lets you play certain old games online after simply downloading a mywebsearch toolbar

And there's my disintrest.

[quote author=Ajavalo link=topic=5295.msg55439#msg55439 date=1330709886 and a well-updated Java.
The playable games include Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic 3D and Sonic Spinball, all of them with really nice framerate and quality. By the way, would it be legit to submit stats for those games obtained in RetroGamer?
[/quote]

I'm going to say no. Odds are that it doesn't truly recreate gameplay for any of them entirely (or at least to the standard emulators get it to). That and knowing it's a Java engine, just makes me laugh a hell of a lot more.

^Uhhh...We allow it in Sonic 3, so I beleive we do? Might need to have someone on the rules committee to confirm.  However if you death by time over, you reset the timer, and that is against the rules.

Well to be honest, across, all subsites, there is almost 12k. But then factor in TMMC, TUSC, TMC and TLC, you don't get many left over.

most of the actual innards of TSC are left to SonicAD and
GerbilSoft (and maybe Rolken, now that I hear he is getting some access back). SDM, Gerbil, and I are pretty limited in what we can do

Wut

In all serious though, perhaps something should be brought up to disallow anyone from submitting until an admin deems a chart fit to be ready for submissions. I'd imagine that'd be a bitch to try and implement, but it's a good idea nonetheless.

What a surprise, i was right. All missions unlocked. After unlocking them all, i have come to the conclusion that no-one should be put through such torture to unlock it all.

We're pretty much done here. RPG's charts on the mainpage are now final.

Rules:
You may not use any Bonus Items in any level.
You must use Time Attack mode for all divisions and categories.

Pretty straightforward, no?

Updated list, only 2 missions unknown, odds are they're Special Trial TR1 and Die Hard TR2.
